RNLI Lifeguard service May 28th - September 4th
A long sandy beach set in a wide bay. In town, the beach is edged with a historical promenade and beach chalets. Close-by to the north, Filey Brigg has some good rock pools to explore.

Things to do

A popular spot for sailing and windsurfing as well as surfing when the waves are right.

There is a coast path and the beach is long enough to stretch your legs.

One of Britain's most famous seaside towns. Scarborough has excellent choice of amenities and entertainments. South sands is a large sandy bay with good facilities and popular with families. A handy cliff lift provides easy access.

Things to do

There is a bowling green and plenty of amusement arcades. There is a leisure centre near-by. If conditions are right this beach is suited to Surfing and Body boarding and there are several surf schools in the area.

Buy an ice-cream and stroll the promenade or explore this traditional seaside town.
